I opened my laptop on the first day of the new year to the incredibly sad news that legendary producer Mark B had passed away. Mark made immeasurable contributions to the UK scene providing quality beats for all manner of vocalists. Known as a true crate-digger with an extensive knowledge serving as a source of inspiration and guidance for his peers and unwittingly the entire scene. His funk-filled sample driven beats set the sound for UK hip hop during the late 90’s and early 2000’s.
Ollie Teeba (The Herbaliser) put together this 45-minute tribute mix of Mark B gems for our enjoyment. Condolences to Mark’s family and his many, many friends at this sad time. Legendary status.
